Bermuda Triangle — South Florida Monitoring Area
Fort Lauderdale
Shipwreck / Maritime Moderate Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
The zone between Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico has a documented history of mysterious disappearances dating to the 1600s. The most famous case: on December 5, 1945, five U.S. Navy Avenger torpedo bombers of Flight 19 departed Fort Lauderdale on a routine training mission and vanished without a trace — 14 men gone. Their flight leader's final radio transmission: 'Everything looks strange, even the ocean.' A PBM rescue aircraft sent after them also disappeared. The area draws investigators and tour operators who document compass anomalies, instrument failures, and time disorientation in boats and aircraft transiting the zone.
