Buxton Inn
Granville
Haunted Building Moderate Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
Ohio's oldest continuously operating inn, built in 1812, is haunted by its original owner Major Buxton — a large man in a cape who sits in the dining room rocking chair and causes glasses to rattle when he stands. The ghost of Orrin Granger, a later innkeeper, appears in the taproom. But the most surprising ghost is Nell Baumer, a former innkeeper from the 1960s who loved the inn so much she apparently decided to stay: she's been seen and photographed in the dining room, wearing the blue dress she wore on her last day of work.
