Cheesman Park — Denver's Cemetery Lawn
Denver
Haunted Cemetery High Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
Cheesman Park's manicured lawns sit atop the original Denver City Cemetery — and thousands of bodies that were never moved when the city converted the cemetery to a park in 1893. Undertakers moved only 2,000 of the 5,000 graves; the rest were covered over with sod. Joggers report being grabbed by unseen hands, picnickers describe cold pockets that move against the wind, and construction projects on the park's edges have repeatedly uncovered coffins. The neighborhood surrounding the park has one of Denver's highest rates of reported paranormal activity.
