Wild Bill Hickok was shot in the back of the head here in 1876 holding the 'Dead Man's Hand.' The Bullock Hotel — built by the town's first sheriff Seth Bullock — is considered the most haunted building in Deadwood. Bullock's ghost is seen throughout the hotel, touching guests on the shoulder and appearing in the mirror. Wild Bill has been reported at the Number 10 Saloon.
