History & Paranormal Activity
This Civil War prison island held up to 12,600 Confederate prisoners at once under brutal conditions — the death rate was catastrophic. The island fortress is now a state park, and rangers and visitors consistently report apparitions of prisoners in gray, moaning sounds from the old prison yard, and cold spots in the cells.
