Judge Parker — the 'Hanging Judge' — presided over 160 executions at this frontier court. The gallows were designed to hang up to six men simultaneously. Rangers and visitors document apparitions of condemned men at the gallows site, a figure in judicial robes in the courtroom, and the sound of the trap door opening and chains when the site is empty.
