Historic Site High Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
The ruins of a rice plantation on the Black River are one of South Carolina's most documented slave haunting sites. Visitors report the sounds of work songs, chains, and drumming from the river. Apparitions in work clothes are seen at dawn near the old field ditch systems. Local Gullah Geechee tradition holds the land 'remembers everything done on it.'
