Hollywood Cemetery

This hillside Richmond cemetery overlooks the James River and holds the graves of Presidents James Monroe and John Tyler, Confederate President Jefferson Davis, and over 18,000 Confederate soldiers. The famous 'Iron Dog' cast-iron Newfoundland that guards the grave of a young girl is said to howl on the anniversary of her death. Visitors report a weeping woman in black near the Confederate section and disembodied soldier footsteps on the pyramid monument at dusk.
