Hotel Monte Vista

This 1927 Route 66 landmark hosted John Wayne, Gary Cooper, and Humphrey Bogart — and apparently kept some of them. John Wayne's spirit is reported in the bar he frequented, moving bottles and chairs. A 'phantom bellboy' knocks on doors and announces room service that was never ordered. Two bank robbers murdered in Room 220 in the 1970s are said to still inhabit the room, with guests reporting being held down in bed. The hotel embraces its haunted reputation with ghost tours every weekend.
