Kecksburg UFO Crash Site

On December 9, 1965, thousands of people across six U.S. states and Canada witnessed a fireball streak across the sky and crash into the woods outside Kecksburg. Witnesses described a bronze acorn-shaped object with strange hieroglyphic markings around its base sitting in a crater in the woods. U.S. Army personnel arrived within hours, cordoned the area, and transported something out on a flatbed truck under tarp. NASA officially lists it as a meteor.
