The site of a Shoshone ambush on an emigrant wagon train in 1862 that killed 10 travelers is now a state park. Visitors report hearing wagon wheels, oxen, and voices speaking 19th-century English on the trail. The ruts carved by emigrant wagons are still visible, and apparitions have been reported near the deepest ruts.
