Mount Moriah Cemetery — Wild Bill's Grave

Wild Bill Hickok, shot in the back while playing poker in 1876, is buried here alongside Calamity Jane — per her dying request. The hilltop cemetery overlooks the entire Black Hills town and is one of the most visited paranormal sites in the Dakotas. Wild Bill's apparition — a tall man in frontier dress carrying a pistol — has been photographed near his grave on dozens of occasions. Calamity Jane's ghost is reported sitting on her own headstone, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying. Both graves register anomalous EMF readings compared to surrounding plots.
