History & Paranormal Activity
This 1909 three-story French Second Empire lighthouse sits alone on a concrete pier in the Thames River where it meets Long Island Sound. The lighthouse log maintained by its last keeper includes an entry: 'John's Curse seabound, Oct. 1936. Wife ran off with captain of Block Island Ferry.' John reportedly threw himself into the sea that day. Coast Guard keepers who served at the lighthouse before it was automated in 1987 all reported tools moved overnight, radio interference, and the sound of someone descending stairs from the sealed lamp room.
