On June 23, 1950, this DC-4 carrying 58 passengers from New York to Seattle vanished over Lake Michigan during a violent storm. It was the deadliest commercial aviation disaster in the US at the time. The wreckage was never fully recovered. Part of the Lake Michigan Triangle legend. Occasional debris still washes ashore decades later.
