Mysterious Phenomenon Moderate Activity

History & Paranormal Activity

A 150-foot diameter circle in a redwood grove where the laws of physics appear locally suspended — balls roll uphill, people lean at extreme angles without falling, and heights appear to shift based on position within the circle. Discovered in 1939 by George Prather, who built a tourist attraction around it. Scientists have offered competing explanations — none universally accepted.

🔒 Classified Field Investigation Notes

Prather's original property survey from 1939, held at the Santa Cruz County Recorder, contains a notation that the survey team's instruments gave inconsistent readings within the circle area — the notation is crossed out and initialed, suggesting it was reviewed and then suppressed from the final survey.
