Shiloh Battlefield

The Battle of Shiloh (April 1862) produced 23,000 casualties in two days. The Bloody Pond, where wounded soldiers from both sides crawled to drink and died, is the most active location — visitors report apparitions reflected in the water, the sound of moaning, and a persistent cold fog that hovers above the pond surface on warm days.
