History & Paranormal Activity
These decommissioned 1882 iron furnaces are haunted by James 'Slag' Wormwood, a brutal foreman who drove workers to their deaths and eventually fell into one of the furnaces himself. Workers and visitors report being pushed near the furnaces, a shadowy figure on the catwalk, and the smell of burning flesh in the engine room. Investigators document some of Alabama's most aggressive EVP here.

🔒 Classified Field Investigation Notes
OSHA records from the furnace's operational years show a statistically anomalous number of 'accidental' worker deaths under Wormwood's supervision — the records were flagged by a safety inspector in 1920 but no action was taken.
