The Bones Inn — Pere Cheney Ghost Town

Pere Cheney was a thriving lumber town until diphtheria epidemics in the 1890s killed most of its population. The town vanished so completely that only the cemetery remains, deep in the Kirtland's warbler habitat forest. Visitors to the hidden cemetery report being followed by unseen presences, hearing children crying in the surrounding trees, and finding animal bones arranged in patterns around the grave markers on return visits. The ghost of a little girl in period dress is the most consistently reported apparition, seen near the children's section of the burial ground.
