The most aggressively haunted private residence in Kansas, the Sallie House in Atchison is named for a six-year-old girl who allegedly died on the kitchen table during emergency surgery in the early 1900s. The entity — whatever it is — focused its attacks on male residents and investigators, manifesting as scratch marks, burns, and bite marks that appeared on skin during investigations and were documented photographically. The Tony Pickman family who lived there in the 1990s documented 10 months of escalating activity before fleeing. The house consistently registers the highest EMF readings of any residential structure in paranormal literature.
