Opened in 1910 for tuberculosis patients, over 8,000 people died here before its closure. The body chute — a 500-foot tunnel used to remove corpses — is the most haunted area. Investigators worldwide consider Waverly Hills among the top five most paranormally active sites on Earth, with full-body apparitions, shadow people, doors slamming, and the ghost of Room 502 (a nurse who hanged herself) appearing regularly.
