Wendigo Sighting Area — Near Traverse City

A recent encounter report: a woman and her sisters were on a golf cart through family property when they saw a figure about 10 feet tall with a humanoid shape, dragging legs, hunched posture, semi-detached dangling arms, and a face like 'a gaping black hole' with a dangling eye. It began running toward them. Interpreted as a Wendigo — a cannibalistic spirit from Algonquian folklore, distinct from the Dogman, more closely associated with the deep north woods.
